Yaounde-Douala: Newly wed pregnant woman dead in road accident

The Yaounde-Douala highway in Cameroon has seen a tragedy taking place along its routes. The reports stated that a woman hailing from Douala was involved in a tragic accident, and the authorities pronounced her dead. The victim remained unidentified. However, the investigation revealed that she was pregnant with a child.

The deceased victim was travelling from Yaounde-Douala in a bus at the time of the accident, the bus encountered some mechanical issues, and she had to deboard the bus and step out while they repaired the bus. She called her husband to pick her up from the spot of her deboarding; however, after the husband reached, he took her in his car. They had not travelled far in the vehicle when they suffered a severe collision. The accident happened along the highway.

The authorities have claimed that the woman died on the spot while her husband continued to battle for his life. He is in a critical state in the hospital. The law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the fatal accident. The deceased pregnant woman was newly married to her husband, who identifies as Dan. The cause of the accident remains unknown. However, the police authorities are looking for clues to solve the mystery.

Cameroon has remained one of the most prominent nations in central Africa, with high accident statistics. The country shares borders with Nigeria and several other nations of Africa; however, it is among the underdeveloped nations in the world. Recently the country suffered another prominent loss in a similar road accident. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 17 and claimed the life of a player of Ngoulebouk FC of Monatele.

He reportedly died in a car accident that occurred on their way back from their Cameroon Cup preliminaries in Obala. The government is making sincere efforts to curb the issue of road accidents and tragedies. However, these issues continue to register with the country’s law enforcement agencies.
