Saint Lucia: Ernest Hilaire celebrates success of Jazz and Art Festivals

The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, recently took to his social media account to share glimpses of the various events the country is hosting as part of the Jazz and The Art Festival. The Minister of Tourism, creative economy, culture and Investment is very excited about the events across the island.

The Minister of Tourism, creative economy, culture and Investment is very excited about the events across the island. He made it a point to attend all the events the country’s people have put together.

The Jazz and The Art festival attracts thousands of tourists and admirers to the various events. The island also hosts fringe and other major events in several parts of the Jazz and The Art festival. Accordingly, the Deputy Prime Minister shared the images and glimpses of the events on his social media account. The Jazz and The Art have hosted fringe events in Marchand, Castries, Babonneau, Desruisseaux and Soufriere.

The Deputy Prime Minister also shares anticipatory posts and event glimpses on his social media. Through these posts, he takes the opportunity to applaud and honour the organizers. The 2023 edition of the Jazz and The Art Festival marks the 25th staging of the event. This is the first edition that Saint Lucia has staged since the Covid-19 Pandemic. After a three-year hiatus necessitated due to the pandemic, the festival has returned with a full swing.

The opening ceremony of the Jazz and the Art spoke of the resounding success of the festival. Prime Minister Philip J Pierre and Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire shared that the opening ceremony attracted thousands of people to Castries. They shared their pride and applause for the authorities responsible for the successful execution of the various events.

Dr Hilaire, who handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Tourism and the creative economy, shared that the event will bring many tourists. The festival has enjoyed huge popularity in the region. The country’s tourism sector will also get a substantial boost due to the Jazz and the Art Festival. He shared that the fringe events for the Jazz and the Art will continue on the weekend.
