St Kitts and Nevis: SKNNCC shares details about Junior Carnival

St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) shared an update on their social media regarding the various aspects of the Junior Carnival Parade. Hundreds of St Kitts and Nevis children will parade through the streets of Basseterre on Saturday, December 31, 2022, as a part of the 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐑 πŒπ€π’ πŸ“πŸ π‚π€π‘πˆπππ„π€π π†π€π‹π€π—π˜ π‰π”ππˆπŽπ‘ π‚π€π‘ππˆπ•π€π‹ 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄.

The junior Carnival Parade will have various events, including Majorettes, Carnival Winners, Junior Folklore, Bold Carnival’s inaugural presentation of First Class Mas and the SKNNCC’s Beauty & The Beast.


The Junior Carnival is an annual practice in several Caribbean nations. Under the Junior Carnival, children can enjoy a day of fun with their parents and guardians. At the same time, they can learn more about Caribbean Culture and festivities in a safe and fun environment.

This practice is becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the world, where Caribbean communities reside in large numbers.

Per the update, St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee have asked Parents and guardians to bring the young revellers to the Dr William Connor Primary School by 10:00 AM. Furthermore, parents must remain with their kids throughout the parade.

Further instructions from the SKNNCC urge Parents and guardians to wear all-white attire, so the committee can easily identify them.

Leave Dr William Connor Primary School at 1:00 PM SHARP along Cayon St, right on West Independence Street, right on Bay Road, right on Fort Street, up Victoria Road and end in Carnival Village. Parents and guardians of the young revellers must be in all white and accompany the children along the parade route. Please be on the side of the section.

They revealed that the costumes for Beauty & The Beast are FREE! Space is very limited, so the SKNNCC has urged people to register at the Secretariat without further delay. SKNNCC shared that they will distribute All Headpieces, Back Pieces, and Hand and Foot Pieces at the Starting Point (Dr William Connor School). Ensure that the parents have registered the child for the section of their choice at the SKNNCC Secretariat

The committee further revealed that children should arrive at the Dr William Connor School dressed in their all-black base. Those in Marine Sea Life and Ocean Predators are required to wear an all-white base with solid dark-coloured underwear.

Further, SKNNCC instructed the parents or guardians to pick up the young revellers at Carnival Village AT 5:30 PM.
