Saint Lucia celebrated the 44th anniversary of their independence. As a part of the celebration, the country observed several events, including the Military Parade by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and the Uniformed Groups and fashion shows that showcased the local fashion designers of Saint Lucia.

The people of saint Lucia also registered their presence at the various events. Further, the country’s Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister recently took to their respective social media to extend their wishes and share glimpses into the celebration events.

Prime Minister Philip J Pierre attended the Military Parade by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and the Uniformed Groups on the 44th independence day of the country. He applauded the spectacular display that the military put together by the country’s armed forces. The prime Minister also shared several images from the parade.

In some of these images, Prime Minister Pierre also featured with the armed forces members. Several social media users, residents, and citizens of Saint Lucia also extended their greetings on the momentous occasion for the country.

Meanwhile, The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, has taken to his social media account to congratulate the people of Saint Lucia on the 44th anniversary of independence. He also took the opportunity to share some glimpses of the Fashion Hits the Streets independence event.

The celebration event took place on the Waterfront in Castries. The independence day celebration featured local designers, models and artists who showcased their talents through their designs.

The Minister of Tourism, Creative Economy et al. has expressed in his independence day wishes that Today is a day for celebration and reflection on where we have come from as a nation. It is also a time to envision Saint Lucia, which we want to build for the future. He further expressed that We are a resilient nation, one nation moving forward as one.
