The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, hosted the various agencies that are part of the Mass Crowd Events Approval process to discuss and review the processes of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival on Thursday, February 3, 2023. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, one of the primary stakeholders in the country’s most anticipated carnivals, is hosting regular meetings with the agencies.
Deputy Prime Minister Hilaire shared glimpses of the meeting on his social media account. As the minister for the creative economy, Deputy Prime Minister Hilaire is responsible for looking into the arrangements and hosting procedures for the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. He has looked into all the festival arrangements through various agencies.
While detailing the work he has taken up to prepare for the upcoming year, he noted that the year is promising to be an exciting year for events. The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival is among the Carnival season’s top-rated and most anticipated events. As a result, the ministry of the creative economy, tourism and other stakeholders of the Carnival expects the event to be among the most crowd-attracting carnival festivities in the Caribbean.
Accordingly, with the return of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival and an even bigger Carnival season, Ernest Hilaire has urged the various stakeholders to assist in streamlining and creating an efficient and effective environment for these events. At the same time, Hillaire has urged them to take critical steps towards ensuring that we protect the health and safety of the patrons and the wider public.
Saint Lucia is looking forward to hosting several festivities in the upcoming year. Chief among these are the Jazz and Arts Festival and the Carnival. Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Hilaire has stressed the fact that the the government must work towards ensuring the safety and well-being of all the patrons and public of Saint Lucia while organizing these events.
