According to him, it is extremely disappointing that some people in both communities have chosen armed conflict to settle their disputes. During the meeting, Commissioner Nwabunwanne told the attendants that the state government is working towards stamping out any form of security bridge in any part of the state.

At the same time, Nwabunwanne stressed that the Anambra government is ready to reconcile the two communities soonest. He urged them to sheath their sword and relax any form of restriction on movement along the roads within the communities.

Going further, he told them that any form of unlawful arrest or apprehension of an innocent person from any of the communities by unauthorized persons, especially from the opposing community, is equivalent to an act of kidnapping, hence should no longer be tolerated.

At the same time, he promised them that the state government would soon set up a community for a peaceful resolution.

Reacting on behalf of the communities, their spokespeople, including the President General of the Umuewelum community, thanked Mr commissioner and assured him that they would adhere to his advice. At the same time, they await the peaceful resolution of the conflict by the government.
