Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis:Â Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended a vote of thanks to medical technicians from Puerto Rico for upgrading anaesthesiology equipment at JNF General Hospital.
PM Drew, who also serves as a Minister of health, expressed his commitment to continuously upgrading the Joseph N France General Hospital with every possible medical equipment for the well-being of its citizens.
He hailed their presence as a step towards recognition, and he boldly announced the forthcoming rise of JNF in Healthcare. He took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to laud the untiring efforts of medical staff from Puerto Rico for their contribution.
“We continue to upgrade our general hospital. As the Minister of Health, I thank the medical technicians from Puerto Rico who are currently upgrading our anaesthesiology equipment at JNF General Hospital.
We are on our way to the accreditation of JNF.
We will be counted among the best”, added Prime Minister Drew.
The leader of St Kitts and Nevis has always been committed to the health of the people in the Federation. He has been directly involved in the progress that the hospital has made in a short period of time.
Recently, the government of the twin-island Federation collaborated with the local contractors and ROC (Taiwan) to address the issue of roof leakage at the hospital. This noteworthy improvement has brought relief to the patients.
Moreover, the JNF hospital received an Electroencephalography (EEG) machine in January 2024. The emergence of this machine marked a significant development, especially when a number of people were suffering from neurological diseases.
This machine enables the cure diagnosis and enhances the treatment of the patients. The hospital has achieved a milestone of 70 cataract surgeries in 2023, with the new equipment received in collaboration with PAHO. Medical practitioners are now able to do surgeries in just 15-20 minutes with the help of these new medical tools.
The people across the nation expressed their joy and lauded PM Drew’s tireless efforts to consistently improve the medical sector of St Kitts and Nevis.
While reacting to PM Drew’s post on FB, one comment by a person named Lennox Guishard-Pine read, “You doing it good and right Healthcare first…. Which will secure our wealth as to better health conditions.”
