Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared the progress report of JNF General Hospital and expressed his commitment to continuously enhancing the medical facility for the well-being of the people.
PM Drew kept his word and made significant strides in delivering improved healthcare to the people in the Federation. While talking about the achievement, he said that the authorities had hired a number of specialists, which is the most in the history of Joseph N France (JNF) General Hospital.
The doctors who were introduced to the family of JNF are as follows,
- Endocrinologist (diabetes and hormone doctor)
- Neurologist (brain and nerve doctor)
- 4 Internists
- 3 Anaesthesiologists
- 2 Paediatricians
- 3 surgeons
- 4 Gynaecologists
- 7 Radiographers, which is the highest number ever in history
The medical staff of the JNF facility welcomes a psychologist to strengthen the mental health of the patients. The hospital launched a Kidney Transplant Programme on November 24, 2023.
The leader of St Kitts and Nevis stated that the transplant services being provided to improve the quality of life of patients. This has marked a groundbreaking advancement in the medical sector.
For the first time ever, the facility has appointed HR personnel as part of the staff. The hospital has welcomed several pieces of equipment which enhance the medical services to the people. Recently, PM Drew thanked the medical technicians from Puerto Rico for upgrading the anaesthesiology equipment at JNF Hospital.
He hailed their presence as a step towards recognition, and he boldly announced the forthcoming rise of JNF in healthcare. The other medical tools included the following,
– New Fluoroscopy machines
– New Anaesthesiology machines
– New medicine cabinet
– Highly advanced ultrasound machines that also perform heart ultrasounds
– Dialysis machines
– Electroencephalogram (EEG) machine to test the brain
– CT Scan machine
Further, the hospital has undergone construction, which resulted in an upgraded and improved infrastructure of the overall facility.
Some of the key upgrades are the reparation of the roof to end years of leaking, refurbishment of the morgue, the addition of ACs in the wards, renovation of the hospital foyer, and involvement of heavy-duty washing machines to enhance the availability of linens.
The advancements of the JNF Hospital benefitted the people to a great extent. They lauded the work done by the Prime Minister in a short span of time.
