Nigeria: The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has penned a letter to the United Kingdom Embassy as the controversy around Ike Ekweremadu and his wife’s detention continues.
In the letter, the group urged that Ekweremadu’s wife must be released so she could be with her sick daughter.
As per the Ohanaeze youths, it is clear that the couple did not do anything wrong but had gone through a legal process to save the life of their daughter.
The letter was made available on Sunday, 26 June was signed by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, Ohanaeze Youths President-General and Comrade Obinna Achionye, the Secretary-General.
“While following more disclosures in the case involving the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, along with his wife, both dedicated son and daughter of Igbo land, we find it reasonable to make this open appeal to the UK Embassy in Nigeria.” stated the letter.
“Having seen that they had no additional intention rather than to save their daughter’s life, as nobody will sit by and watch their child die without making efforts, we felt it essential to make this appeal.”
“We appeal for the dismissal of one of them so the individual can take care of the sick child who requires medical help urgently”, the group stated.
Additionally, the group also condemned those allegedly making pseudo accounts with the name of the said victim of organ harvesting, David Nwamini.
They said that within 48 hours, five fake Facebook accounts were made with the alleged victim’s name.
Earlier, they had claimed that the alleged boy was 15 years old, but recent disclosures have proved otherwise, which is why a thorough investigation must be done.
The group urged the general public to discontinue such things as the truth will soon prevail, and Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife would come out of these wrong allegations with their reputation intact.
