While confirming the incident, ASP Oduniyi Omotayo, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, said that a combined team of the Police officers had been deployed to the area where the incident took place to rescue the ones that had been kidnapped.

He further stated that the incident took place in Rafin Daji, a boundary community between the FCT and Niger. The farmers were said to be working on their farms when the gunmen came and kidnapped them.
