CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, received another courtesy received the Chairman Karaye Zumunta Fruits Sellers Development Association,

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, received another courtesy received the Chairman Karaye Zumunta Fruits Sellers Development Association, Abbas Abdullahi Dederi, on a courtesy visit.

In his remark, the Chairman of Karaye Zumunta Fruits Sellers Development Association, Abbas Dederi, stated, “Today is one of our happiest days as the Commissioner of Police warmly receives us.

Indeed, this shows that you are a community policing officer and speaks to your professionalism and commitment to effective service delivery. Furthermore, before your assumption of duty as CP in Kano, the State has been grappling with the alarming rise in Mobile Phone armed robbery cases, thuggery (Daba) activities and other social vices.

However, on your assumption of office and your unwavering commitments, the ugly head of all these crimes has become the history of the past. It’s on this basis that we visit you to thank you for restoring the security, peace and stability being enjoyed in Kano State. In addition, the Manner Police are discharging their duties under your leadership, making the adage “Police is your friend” be statement of fact rather than ridicule.

It also encourages us to come and strongly partner with the Police and also seek your support. Lastly, we assure the CP that we will give the Police the maximum cooperation and wish the CP and entire officers of the Command all the best in their endeavours.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, stated, “I’m happy to receive you. On my assumption of duty as Commissioner of Police to Kano State Police Command, I promised to the good people of the State to implement the roadmap of policing on three (3) Pillars;
Open Door Policing, Professionalism and Zero Tolerance to Corruption.

He stated that we must ensure the security of lives and property. But this cannot be achieved by the Police alone. As I always said, no standalone agency can claim the monopoly of effective security. Besides, even some identified thugs (Yan Daba) were invited to this office, strongly believed to be behind the escalation of thuggery (Daba) activities in the State. As a result of this initiative, one hundred (100) notorious thugs (Yan Daba) surrendered themselves including their weapons to this Police Command.

They are now in our repentant register and working with the Police Command to promote sustainable peace and development in the State. In the same way, on the way to tackling the menace of mobile phone armed robbery,

I pegged one month to make it history, and it was accomplished as you mentioned, but with the support of the good people of the State. Lastly, I advise you to adhere to the security tips being regularly issued by the Police Command. Thank you.

The Visit was concluded with the presentation of souvenirs by the Commissioner of Police as a sign of brotherhood and cooperation.
