The Commissioner of Police in the Police Command of Kano recently met the newly posted Comptroller of Immigration service. He also met the newly elected Exco Members of the Kano Correspondence Chapel. The courtesy Meeting took place on Wednesday, July 26, 2023

Talking to the Commissioner of Police, the Comptroller applauded the Commissioner of Police. We heard about your enthusiasm and commendable achievements in fighting emerging crimes. He noted that the commissioner of police is doing his duty despite the daunting challenges in the State.

He added that you are a pillar in bringing the desired peace and security enjoyed in Kano State and beyond, Correspondents’ Chapel Chairman tells CP Gumel.

On July 26 2023, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, also received the newly posted Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kano State Command, CIS AD Bagari and the freshly elected exco members of Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by the Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Garko on courtesy visits.

In his remark, the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kano State Command, stated: “I’m delighted for this familiarization visit to your office. It is a tradition for any newly posted Comptroller to go around and familiarize himself and seek synergy with other sister security agencies.

This visit is to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between our organizations. Furthermore, we heard about your enthusiasm and commendable achievements in fighting emerging crimes despite the daunting challenges in the State. Additionally, we are ready to cooperate with the Command regarding intelligence sharing, operations, and training to secure the State effectively. Finally, I offered my hand of friendship and cooperation. The CIS said.

In his remark, the newly elected Chairman of Kano Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Aminu Garko, stated that “The CP, sir, this visit is to enable the new leadership of the Chapel to familiarize themselves with you and also partner with the Police Command to give you effective coverage on issues relating to your organization.

Indeed, you are a pillar in bringing peace and security that not only the Kano State people enjoys, but beyond. In addition, you are one of the CPs that successfully maintained a harmonious working relationship with the state media. Therefore, the people are noticing the effort of the Police Command under your leadership, Further, we must commend you for that. Thank you, our CP.”

In his dual responses, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, stated that “I welcome you to the Headquarters of Police in Kano to familiarize with the Officers of the Command. In my progression, I have conducted many activities with Immigration and Media. He stated that that is where I learned about Collaborative policing.

As I always said, no stand-alone agency can claim the monopoly of effective security. Consequently, there is a need to be having a benchmarking discussion on how best we can achieve the goal of maintaining peace and security in the State.

Therefore, consider this office as the extension of your offices. Hence I assure you of the police’s maximum cooperation and Welcome you once more to Kano State Police Command HQ, the CP said. The authorities concluded the visits with the presentation of souvenirs by the Commissioner of Police as a sign of brotherhood and cooperation.
