The House of Representatives Member representing Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency, Asema Achado, has come out in support of a student in his constituency. The name of the student is Iortim Vasue Philemon. The student is a final-year student. He is studying Business Administration at the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara State. The University expelled the student on grounds of circulating unverified information on Social Media.
Accordingly, Asema Achado took the matter to the House of Representatives. He urged them to urgently intervene in the issue . He also asked them to reinstate Iortim Vasue Philemon. The final year student of Business Administration from the Federal University of Gusau, Zamfara State, who has been expelled by the University stands expelled as of now.
The University’s decision to expel the student on the grounds of spreading misinformation does not bode well for the future of the final-year student. The member of the House of Representatives presented the Petition in front of the House of Representatives. He further maintained that the decision to expel the student from the University would lead to severe consequences for his future.
Presenting the Petition before the House, Achado highlighted the grave concerns over the expulsion. Meanwhile, He started by noting that the university has expelled Iortim Vasue Philemon on allegations of circulating unverified information on Social Media.
The House of Representatives member also urged the people for a speedy Intervention. He asked them to consider the Petition and ensure justice and fairness by reinstating the student to safeguard his academic future.
The ruling, the Deputy Speaker who presided over Wednesday’s plenary, Benjamin Kalu, directed that the Petition be laid to the House Committee on Public Petitions for urgent consideration.
