Pakistan: Balochistan Blames center for economic troubles

The central government of Pakistan did not give the province of Balochistan their constitutional share in the NFC Award. Following this, the province is facing an economic crisis.

The central government of Pakistan did not give the province of Balochistan their constitutional share in the NFC Award. Following this, the province is facing an economic crisis. The provincial government has expressed their displeasure on the treatment that they are receiving from the center. Meanwhile, the chief minister of Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has criticized the attitude of the center towards the state.

During a cabinet meeting with the other ministers of Balochistan, he termed their attitude negative. Chief Minister Bizenjo made these remarks against the finance ministry and the planning ministries of the center government. It needs to be noted that the government of Pakistan, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced a relief grant for the flood affected areas. However, the Chief minister of Balochistan claims that they have not received the grant.

This is almost 10 months after the prime minister made the announcement for the grant. The prime Minister had promised a sum of 10 Billion towards the grant. After the chief minister made the accusations, PM Sharif directed the ministry of finance to look into the matter. However, the state has witnessed no further development in this regard.  Accordingly, the administration of Balochistan, led by Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo blame the center for their economic troubles. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan has been struggling with an eminent economic crisis for several months. They are looking towards international organizations and friends to assist them in this crisis. However, with each passing day, the crisis is worsening. The rates of inflation in the country are skyrocketing at an alarming rate. Recently, some sources suggested that the inflation in the country is on the verge of reaching a historic high. 

 The chief minister of Balochistan stated that he will raise his concerns in front of the Prime Minister. During this meeting, provincial ministers, senators, MNAs and leaders of the parliamentary parties will accompany him.
