St Kitts and Nevis: SKNLP celebrates 90th anniversary, glimpses below

St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is completing ninety years of service to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. The political party is the oldest functioning political party in the twin islands.

St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is completing ninety years of service to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. The political party is the oldest functioning political party in the twin islands. Reportedly, The political party hosted the thanksgiving service at the Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday, January 22. The political party will celebrate their ninetieth anniversary on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. 

The leader of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) and Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Geoffrey Hanley, took to their social media accounts to share some glimpses from the event.

According to reports, SKNLP Leadership hosted the event commemorating the 90th anniversary at the Lime Kiln in West Basseterre. All the prominent leaders and politicians of the political party were in attendance. The Politicians had also extended invitations to all the citizens and supporters of the political party. 

Minister of the Creative Economy Samal Duggins, Minister of Foreign Affairs Denzil Douglas and Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew took to their social media to invite SKNLP supporters to the thanksgiving service. In this regard, Minister Samal Duggins paid tribute to the ancestors and founders of SKNLP. 

He wrote: We are truly blessed to stand on the shoulders of great men and women, including my great grandfather Joseph Nathan, whose life and work serve as constant reminders that everything we do must be for the good we can do. 

Meanwhile, Geoffrey Hanley also celebrated the history of the political party through social media. SKNLP is the oldest political party in St Kitts and Nevis, which came into existence in the form of the St Kitts Workers’ League in 1932. In the decades that followed, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party have served dutifully for the nation’s development
