Bayelsa State declares result for UG essay writing competition

The Bayelsa State new media’s official Facebook page has declared the result of the undergraduate essay writing competition.

The 11th edition of the Online Essay Contest for Bayelsa state Undergraduates was held exactly a week ago on Thursday, 15th December 2022. The State’s new media’s official Facebook page has declared the result of the competition.

The Office of the Director of New Media to the Governor of Bayelsa State sponsored the essay writing competition. The contest’s topic for the 11th edition was “Nigeria’s Electoral Reforms: The BVAS Option.”

Further, The essay was open to all young undergraduates of the State in any tertiary institution within the country. For the competition, participants needed to submit an insightful write-up of between 350 – 400 words and forward it to the email address below:

As per the results declared by the Social Media page of Bayelsa State New Media, the winning contenders for the undergraduate essay writing competition are:

The prizes for the competition are:

1. The champion of the competition will receive a cash prize totalling N200,000.00

2. The 2nd Place holder will receive a total of N100,000.00

3. The 3rd Place holder will receive a total of N50,000.00

Then, consolation prizes for the 4th and 5th Placed.

As per the competition guidelines, The competition was a one-day event. After finishing their entries, all participants were advised to go to the official Facebook page: Bayelsa Government New Media and drop notification of their submission by posting the introductory part of the essay. Additionally, they must submit their Name, School, Level, Course of Study, Community (Village) and Local Government Area.

The topic for the eleventh edition of the undergraduate essay writing competition, “Nigeria’s Electoral Reforms: The BVAS Option.” is extremely apt in light of the upcoming elections in Nigeria.
