A 23-year-old driver Habibi Gbadamosi docked before Chief Magistrate Court for purportedly killing a 55-year-old man in Oladosu of Surulere area, Sango, Ibadan, due to reckless driving on August 09 2022, Tuesday.
The defendant begged the Court not to charge him guilty. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Munirat Giwa, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N1 million.
In November 2021, Babalola adjourned the case for hearing. The prosecution Counsel Inspector, Olufemi Omilana, informed the Court that on July 30, one Lexus Saloon car marked: AKD 808 HG purportedly driven to the public highway in a careless manner, which led to the death of l Oladosu of Surulere area, Sango, Ibadan, a 55-year-old man.
The Defence Counsel, Mr DS Adesanya, asked the Court to admit his client for liberal bail.
Omilana said that Gbadamosi purposely committed this crime at 7:00 am on July 30, 2022, near Poly Junction on Sango road, Ibadan. He also added that defendant was arrested for having no regard for the circumstances of other road users, which caused the death of l Oladosu of Surulere area, Sango, Ibadan.
He said the offence contravened Section 3 (E) of the Road Traffic Act, Vol. II, Cap 142 of Oyo State, 2000
