Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, celebrated a splendid evening with the nurses of the island nation. The night was filled with several exciting and entertaining activities in order to celebrate and appreciate the excellent services of the nurses of the country. 

While taking to his official Facebook account, PM Terrance Drew shared glimpses of his meeting and stated, “My wife and I, joined by the Esteemed Dame, spent a splendid evening with the nurses of St Kitts and Nevis.”

He extended wishes to all the nurses and urged the citizens to express their love and appreciation for all their services for the betterment of citizens. He also extended best wishes to all the nurses for their future endeavour to provide excellent health care to all the residents of the island nation.

Moreover, PM Terrance Drew also promised to work collaboratively to promote and enhance the nursing profession as the backbone of the healthcare system. 

International Nurses Day is celebrated every year in order to recognize the tiring efforts of the nurses towards the development of health sector and well-being of the citizens, enhancing standard of living of all the people. 

This year, the International Nurses Day was celebrated under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future. The economic power of care. The theme shed light on the continuous efforts of Nurses towards elevating the health sector of the island nation to greater heights. 

Moreover, Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and NevisDr. Denzil Douglas also extended wishes to all the nurses and extended gratitude to them for providing immense care in every speciality.

“Today, and always, I pay tribute to our Nurses, retired and activebecause without them, there will be no us. We pray that they will continue to serve to the best of their abilities, healing and touching the lives of many,” noted Dr. Denzil Douglas.
