ISWAP is starting an insurgency in the northeast but claims that it has carried out the attack far away from its enclave have increased concern that the group is expanding its footprint in Nigeria.

As per the statement released by Irabor in Abuja that the attackers were nabbed in joint operations which involves the armed forces, the Department of Security Services & police. He did not say where & when the arrests were made.

He added that he could not parade the suspects due to ongoing investigations.

Irabor stated, “I would like to add that in due course, the world will see them & others who are behind further daring attacks in the nation.”

The governor for Ondo state, Arakunrin Akeredolu, added a person who had provided shelter to the suspects before the attack was also arrested.

ISWAP has claimed responsibility for a series of low-level attacks & a daring jail break in Abuja in early July that released more than 400 inmates.
