Brume jumped 6.99 and again 6.99m on her 2nd attempt and immediately took the lead. In a six-jump series, Brume jumped marks over 6.9m four times, fouling once and her slightest mark being 6.81m.

Apart from the 7m, which she jumped during her last attempt when she had already clinched the Gold medal, she jumped 6.99m twice and then 6.96m twice. All scores were good enough to win her the title.

On the other hand, Elizabeth Oshoba, a Nigerian athlete, secured a Silver medal for her country in the Women’s Boxing over 54kg-57kg Featherweight category during the last day of the Commonwealth Games.

With this, Nigeria came to 7th position in the medal table with a total of 35 medals; 12 gold, 9 silver, 14 bronze.
