The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 28th turbaning anniversary as the Emir of Ilorin.
The PDP’s congratulatory statement to the highly revered monarch is contained in a press statement signed by its State Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, and made available to journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, on Saturday.
The party described the Emir as a bastion of Emirate culture and tradition, noting that within the last 28 years of his reign, the Emir has played significant roles in promoting harmonious relationships among Kwarans of different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
Babatunde Mohammed, On behalf of members and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara state, warmly congratulated His Royal Majesty, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the 11th Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council, on his 28th turbaning anniversary.
He further regarded The Emir as a bastion of culture and tradition who has played significant roles in the promotion of peace and harmony among the people of Ilorin as well as inhabitants of other communities in Kwara.
Undoubtedly, in the last twenty-eight years under Mai Martaba’s reign have witnessed enormous blessings to all Emirates and a new sense of direction that is propelling our state to greater heights.
“The Emir has been a strong pillar of support to the state, and the members of the PDP wholeheartedly identify with such an amazing father figure on his 28th anniversary on the highly revered Sheikh Alimi’s royal throne.
The party urged the Ilorin people and Kwarans to continue to rally support for the Emirate traditional council.
He also added the prayer is that the Almighty god will continue to give the Emir good health and wisdom to pilot the traditional affairs of the Ilorin Emirate and offer valuable contributions to the development of our dear state, the statement concluded.
