Habeebat Deen hails from the Ankpa local government area of the Kogi East senatorial zone of the State. She was a member of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

She was unveiled to PDP elders and members after she was presented to the party leadership by the governorship candidate of the party, Senator Dino Melaye, at a brief unveiling ceremony held at the private residence of a former governor of the State, Alh. Ibrahim Idris, popularly known as Ibro, in Abuja.

The PDP governorship candidate, Senator Melaye, revealed that the choice was unprecedented by any major political party in the State, and they will continue to do things that are innovative and different.

The 13th President of the Senate & Chairman of the 8th Session of the Nigerian National Assembly, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has shared his reviews on this; he said Senator Dino Melaye is a fighter and a man of the people who has a proven track record and regarded him as a leader whose grassroots support cannot be ignored and an advocate who lends his voice to those who need one.

He further said that after being let down by the current APC administration, he is convinced that amongst all the candidates, Senator Dino is the right person to lead Kogi State into a new era of prosperity and development. He is a dedicated and ardent leader who will dance, sing, and work for the good people of Kogi.

Abubakar Bukola Saraki urged all PDP leaders, supporters, and other stakeholders to put aside any grievances they may have with Senator Melaye and focus on the coming gubernatorial election.
