Cameroon: Yaoundé University student stabbed to death near her house

Loïce Charnelle Kenmoe, a Post-graduation student in Geo-sciences at the University of Yaounde in Cameroon, died after receiving fatal stab wounds in her stomach. As per the reports of the authorities, Kenmoe was returning from her classes when the perpetrators attacked and killed her. The incident happened on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, around 8:30 PM.

The police are investigating the crime, and the scrutiny has revealed that the culprits attacked her in front of the gate of her family house in the Tongolo neighbourhood. The culprits abandoned her body outside the gate of her house and fled the scene. Meanwhile, the neighbour of the family found the girl, Loïce Charnelle Kenmoes body dead and in the pool of her own blood.

The sources have further revealed that the police authorities are questioning the family in the case. The family subsequently informed the media that the culprits had tortured the woman before killing her. The medical authorities found marks of torture and abuse on her body.

One of the relatives of the girl spoke to the media. He stated that they believe the deceased victim, Loïce Charnelle Kenmoe tried to cry out and call for help because we saw a trail of blood. It was a neighbour who saw her and he took her in a taxi to the hospital, well she gave up her soul in the meantime, “.

Notably, the police authorities involved in the investigation cannot track down the purpetrators of this violent incident. The investigation in the crime are in progress and the authorities have spoken to the family and media about several specifics of the incident.

The incidents of insecurity are on a steady rise in the Central African country. The nation has witnessed several crime incidents in the previous few weeks, including homicide incidents. According to media sources, this young lady is the 17th vixtim of murder in the last 58 days in Cameroon.
