The Yaoundé region of Cameroon has been witnessing a surhe in crime and vilence based incidents. An unidentified person allegedly killed the buyam-sellam woman living in Nanga Eboko. The incidents of homicides have been especially high in numbers since the start of the new year.
The authorities investigating the crime have recognized the victim as Vanessa. She lived in Nanga Eboko, Upper Sanaga Division with her two children (both girls) and three other relatives. As per the sources, the unidentified individual killed Vanessa at her house in the Upper Sanaga Division in Yaoundé.
According to reports, The victim was a 31 year old “buyam-sellam”. The culprit killed her, her two children, and three other relatives staying with her at the house. One of the deceased victims of the homicide incident was Vanessa’s younger sister, Wafo Sorelle. She was a 23-year-old student at the University of Soa, Yaounde. She had who went to visit her elder sister.
Meanwhile, The investigation of the law authorities revealed that the girl was in the midst of a divorce proceeding with her husband. She was living separately from him with her children and three relatives. The victim is a tomato trader in the market. She did not show up to her stand on April 7, 2023.
As a resultt, Fellow traders got worried due to her unaccounted absence, after which one of the traders decided to visit the woman. They went to their fellow trader’s house on the same day. Following this, upon receiving no response from her side, they forced open the door and let themselves in. Once the traders were inside, they found the bodies of the six deceased family members.
The unknown culprit of the murder allegedly mutilated her body very severely. The reports suggest the brutality of the crime was extremely severe and gruesome. The traders who discovered the body called the police to investigate the scenario further. Investigations are ongoing into the brutal murder
