Leki Precious, a final-year student at the university of Buea in Cameroon, committed suicide after her boyfriend ended their relationship. The couple had been together for a long time when they parted ways. The breakup happened earlier in the year, in February 2023. The deceased was depressed after her breakup with her boyfriend.

The reports suggest that the boy was cheating on Leki Precious, bringing his new girlfriend to the house, and breaking up with the deceased. The police officials got in touch with a friend of the dead 21-year-old Buea University student. Reportedly, the “friend” found the victim in critical condition.

She also informed the police authorities about the relationship history between the deceased girl and her boyfriend. The boy was allegedly cheating on Leki Precious. The authorities suspect that the situation drove the victim to take her life. The friend informed the officers that she believed Leki had moved on from her heartbreak because she was looking for a new partner and had told her to find someone to take care of her without strings attached.

Following this, the friend informed the authorities that Leki Precious asked her the most effective brand of poison; The friend confessed she did not know that Leki would commit suicide, so she gave her the rat poison brand’s name. The friend found Leki in her home. She was very critical and vomiting blood.

As a first response, the friend took the now-deceased to the hospital. The girl rushed the victim to Deligent Hospital, but her condition was crucial, so the doctors suggested she shift to Solidarity Hospital. The hospital authorities, doctors and staff tried their best to save the life of Leki Precious. However, they were unsuccessful in the attempt.

After the news of the suicide came out in the open, several students and friends of the victim came on their social media to express their grief.
