Commissioner Inspected Also Inspected The Vocational Training Center

The Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Lawan Abba Wakilbe, on Monday, the 13th of November 2023, flagged off his week-long official tour with Government Day Secondary School, Junior Day Secondary School and Central Primary School in Yirmithalang Kwaya Kusar LGA before proceeding to Shani.

He inspected the newly commissioned Vocational Training Center Shani, Government Secondary School, Mega School and Central Primary School Shani.

Commissioner Wakilbe proceeded to Kubo to inspect the Government Secondary School, where he commended Principal Salihu Garba for his dedication before inspecting Primary Schools on the way.

Similarly, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing Government Day Secondary School at Bila-Kutuki in Kwaya Kusar, then proceeded to Miringa to inspect the ongoing thirty-classroom Mega School and ongoing works at Government Girls Secondary School Biu.

Commissioner Wakilbe was accompanied by Babagana Galtimari of the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB, Babagana Bulama Teachers Service Board TSB, and staff of the Ministry of Education, Among others.

The dedication of the Commissioner, Wakilbe, towards the education of the Borno state is highly commendable, and with this, he climbed one more step towards greatness.

Last month, the Commissioner inaugurated a committee with the primary task of reviewing and recommending textbooks for use in Borno State schools, ensuring they align with societal norms and contain valuable content.

The director of the Borno State Education Resource Center, Suleman Abba Sheriff, was chosen as the leader of the community.

The team members include Hajiya Amina Makintami (NAPPS), Mansur Kyari (ANCOPSS), Ali Dauda (SUBEB), Ibrahim Wulfu (Ministry of Education), John S Bahago (Care Bears School), Daniel Militus (Namu School), and Kamilu Abdulruaf (Maiduguri Capital School).

Moreover, the Commissioner also inaugurated a mega school, which consisted of 30 classrooms.

In addition to that, the Commissioner also handed over necessary school items such as books, bags and shoes to the children.

Wakilbe also inaugurated the refurbished school bus to North East Children Trust Learning Centre Maiduguri.
