The Borno state Governor Zulum inaugurates new mega school

A Refurbished Bus and some essential school items were donated

Vice President Yemi Osibanjo handed over Borno’s North East Children Trust learning centre. The government showed a progressive approach and inaugurated a new mega school.

Governor Zulum provided funds to the school with other school-related items, such as furniture, while the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation handed over refurbished buses.


The Borno state government inaugurated the mega school on Tuesday, 10th of October 2023, delivered by the state education trust fund (ETF). The school consist total of thirty(30) classrooms.

The state governor was warmly welcomed by the Commissioner of Education, Lawan Abba Wakilbe, and other officials.

The state Governor complimented the ETF for completing such a significant project on the designated time and called on the community to utilize the facility in order.

The governor named the school ‘Government Day Boys Secondary School, Zajeri’.

The Commissioner handed over the essential school items such as Bags, Books and Shoes procured by the government to the school children for their start-up.

Furthermore, Commissioner Wakilbe also inaugurated the refurbished school bus to North East Children Trust Learning Centre Maiduguri.
He thanked the governor for supporting the school with grants, furniture, books, and other school items.


Wakilbe further stated the commendable jobs done by Governor Zulum. He affirmed that Zulum rehabilitated over 600 classrooms within 100 schools across the state and also built 24 mega-size schools.

Wakilbe added that the Zulum government recruited 1,000 highly trained teachers and posted them in all the schools throughout the state.

An important meeting took place, where principals of all the government secondary schools were present. The meeting occurred on Saturday, the 14th of October 2023, when the commissioner briefed them on his aspiration for days to visit their respective schools.

Zulum also congratulated all the principals on the latest triumph achieved by the Borno state educational institutes.

A team of experts led by the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, visited the Borno state schools and praised the education system of Borno. After the visit, Dr Hadiza asserted that they have learned so much and are taking it back to implement in their respective schools.
