Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit meets Amb Linda S. Taglialatela for cordial meet

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has recently interacted with the United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean Linda S. Taglialatela at the Office of the Prime Minister. The meeting took place on Friday, August 11, 2023. The United States Ambassador was on a trip to the commnwealth of Dominica from August 10 to August 13.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Skerrit interacted with Ambassador Taglialatela on a number of issues. Meanwhile, The prime minister and the Ambassador of United states to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean discussed several issues of increased cooperation between the two regions.

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, called on the United States of America to support. They seeked support for CARICOM’s proposal for a UN Security Council resolution to deploy an international security force to restore peace and stability in Haiti. The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica is also the chairman of the Caribbean Community.

Meanwhile, During his interaction with the United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, The Prime Minister further proposed a collective approach at Conference Of Parties 28 on climate change issues to build resilience and facilitate climate financing for small, vulnerable states.

During the meeting, Dr Skerrit reassured the Ambassador of the trusted friendship of CARICOM member states, particularly Dominica. The prime minister took to his social media account to share the update of the meeting with the Ambassador.

Prime Minister also shared some images from the meeting, which took place on Friday, August 11, 2023. Skerrit expressed his delight on hosting Ambassador Linda S. Taglialatela at the Office of the Prime Minister in the Commonwealth of Dominica. His tweet, in this regard read,
