The Governor of Anambra state, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, celebrated the occasion of International Youth Day on August 12, 2023. During the celebration, the Governor accompanied his remarkable wife, Nonye Soludo. The event aimed to highlight and encourage the youth of the state.
Authorities across the globe are marking the occasion of the youth day with several significant events. In the event hosted in Anambra, the state governor also accompanied the Speaker of Anambra State, Somto Udeze, and the Anambra State Executive Council members. They hosted a 6.5km walk and ran for life at Awka Township Stadium, commemorating the international youth day.
The event had hundreds of youths participating. These youths represented various youth organizations from 179 communities across the state. The government of Anambra state organized the event under Ministry for Youth Development in collaboration with Anambra State Sports Development Commission.
The authorities concluded the preparation for the event under the leadership of Patrick Agha Mba and Estate Patrick Onyedum respectively.
Meanwhile, the wife of Governor, Nonye Soludo’s Healthy Living Initiative, Governor Soludo, on July 28 2023, walked and ran, covering a distance of 8km in Isuofia to mark his 63rd birthday celebration. Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, while addressing the joyful Anambra youth at the stadium, commended them to “eat healthily and exercise dirty” and shun drug and cultism.
He added that plans are top gear for reviving sporting and sports activities in Anambra schools and beyond. He vowed that Anambra would soon be a destination point rather than a departure place.
Governor assured Anambra Youth that with Solution Innovation District, which has kicked off already, the emerging Solution Fun City project will also kick off shortly and sited close to the Awka Township Stadium, Anambra will become the biggest entertainment, innovation, technology leisure hub in West Africa.
Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to Governor Ernest Ezeajughi, Principal Secretary, Chief JC Anieto, and the entire Anambra State Executive Council members were present at the wonderful event.
