Anambra state reappoints transition committee chairmen

The Anambra state House of Assembly confirmed their appointments in line with section two hundred and eight of the Local government law. At the state’s Executive Governor’s request, the House of Assembly announced the reappointments during the plenary.

Meanwhile, the reports have suggested that the State House of Assembly changed the Transition Committee chairpersons of two Local Government Councils. They are Kingsley Obi of the Ihiala Local government area and his Awka North counterpart, Chief Emma Ucheze.

Chief ThankGod Anagor replaces Emma Ucheze as the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local government area. In contrast, Engineer Anayor Orjiakor replaces Kingsley Obi as the Transition Committee Chairman of the Ihiala Local government area.

The Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, charged the Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty-one Local government areas of the state to work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the House to achieve the Governor’s vision of building a liveable and prosperous homeland for Ndi Anambra and read out the confirmation of their appointments. At the same time, the lawmakers supported it through a voice vote.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum Local government area, Livinus Onyenwe, assured the House that the Committee Chairmen will continue to live up to expectations.

On his part, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local government, Chief Neville Uchendu, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for reappointing him to serve the Local government, assuring that he will continue to work in line with his vision for Anambra state.
