First Zamfara Governor shows faith in cabilities of former gov Bello

Jibrin Bala Yakubu (rtd), has expressed his utmost confidence in the ability of the immediate past governor of the state

The first governor of the Zamfara state and Military Administrator, Col. Jibrin Bala Yakubu (rtd), has expressed his utmost confidence in the ability of the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, to serve as one of the best ministers in the country in the incoming Federal Executive Council of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The former governor, politician and military administrator confessed that he holds his successor in high esteem. The first and former Governor of Zamfara state has high hopes for Dr Mohammed. He has handled the responsibility for the state well during his tenure.

JB Yakubu made this comment on Saturday, August 5, 2023. At the time of his remarks, he was paying a congratulatory visit to Matawalle. The former governor of Zamfara is nominated to be a minister in the cabinet of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I have known Matawalle for more than thirty years as a performer. He called Governor Bello a responsible and respective leader. According to him, he is full of initiatives that will most likely cause positive and workable changes in our country.

Accordingly, he stated that his appointment and nomination by the president did not surprise him. He added that many Nigerians witnessed  the Senate ministerial screening that Matawalle attended on Friday. It was interesting as the senators were all very happy to receive him in the chamber, which was more of a friendly discussion than ministerial screening,” he said.

Col. Yakubu said Matawalle earned the presidential, ministerial nomination from Zamfara and called on the former governor to continue to be a good state ambassador.

In response to the praise, Matawalle thanked the former military governor for the visit and words of encouragement. He also promised never to disappoint the president, Nigerians, and Zamfara people.

Further, Many congratulatory visits have continued coming to Matawalle from many leaders and other well-wishers in person or writing, causing traffic jam lock around Matawalle’s Asokoro private residential area.
