Bola Ahmad Tinubu has sworn into the position of the 16th President of Nigeria in a brief ceremony at Eagle Square venue in the capital, Abuja. Ahead of the swearing in ceremony, the newly elected president faces backlash and opposition from several Nigerians. Many people believe that the elections that appointed Tinubu as the president-elect of Nigeria was not free and fair. Since several country people believe that Tinubu is not their president, they have contacted the courts of law.

In line with this, the avid supporter of the labour Party politician, Peter Obi has taken to his social media to share his views. Philip Thomas, better known as Comrade Phils, shared that the day was very ironic. A few celebrate today while the majority mourn the death of democracy in Nigeria. He urged the people of Nigeria to not give up. He shared the example of what happened with Abacha. When God arose, it did not take the efforts of any Nigerian for Abacha to be removed forever.

Comrade Phils shared his views about the unconstitutional elections that happened in February. For 9 months, we dedicated our time and fought to save the soul of this nation from rot. While we campaigned with our lips and voted with our thumbs, a few crude folks voted with guns and bullets. They intimated their way and stole the will of the majority. But know that they may have stolen our votes but not our hopes.

Philip Thomas shared that our hopes are not in man, guns, or bullets, for we have none. Our hope is in God. If he wills, Tinubu will be president for 8 years and there is nothing Peter Obi or anyone can do about it but if he is still God and hears his people’s prayers, rest assured that victory will come when we least expect it.

He stated that I refuse to curse Nigeria today. I will bless it instead and pray that God shows himself supreme in the affairs of men. He urged the people Remain unshakingly Obedient and put Nigeria in your prayers everyday. There certainly will be light at the end of this tunnel.
