Ogueke took the opportunity to draw on the similarities between the player who caught his attention in the tournament's first match, Kevin Rodriguez and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress.

Nigerian Author and political economist Michael Ogueke, the vocal supporter of Tinubu, has shown interest in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. The Author took the opportunity to draw on the similarities between the player who caught his attention in the tournament’s first match, Kevin Rodriguez and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress.

Rodriguez is a member of the victorious team Ecuador. He made his World Cup debut in the 90 minutes of the game. Ecuador team won their first match against the tournament host, Qatar.

Recently he was a player of Imbabura SC of the Ecuadorian second division.

On November 5, 2022, Ecuador Coach Gustavo Alfaro called the player Rodriguez to play the friendly match against Iraq & also as part of the training group of the Ecuadorian national team. On November 14 2022, the selectors included him in the final list for the World Cup 2022. It was a surprise for all of Ecuador.

Ecuador Coach Gustavo Alfaro justified his call: “Every time I see Kevin, he reminds me of my fighting years. He reminds me of the years when I was in the Ascension. In a year, I travelled more than 44,000 kilometres by bus to play matches, & dreaming about my country’s league football, not to mention a World Cup. It was in another dimension. But I’m for it, TO GIVE CHANCES.”
