Illegal substances seized by NDLEA in six states of Nigeria

This was stated by Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy of NDLEA, in a statement on Sunday, June 19, in Abuja.

Babafemi stated that a drug dealer, Abdullahi Musa, aka Yerima Uding, who is wanted for some earlier attacks on officers and men of the agency, was arrested during the early hours of June 16 in Hong Kong, Adamawa.

He stated that the suspect, aged 53, was caught with over 57 blocks of condensed cannabis sativa hidden in the boot of his Toyota Corolla car with reg. no. GMB 185 MF.

He also noted that the suspect had been known as the mastermind of the mob attack in Hing Kong on October 6, 2020.

He said this led to the demise of an NDLEA operative, and another officer is now bedridden due to incapacitation.

“In Borno State, another drug dealer, Umar Musa, was captured in Tashan Kano, Gwoza LGA on June 17 with 8,000 pills and tablets of Tramadol weighing 4.550kgs.

“NDLEA detectives confiscated 32.182kgs cannabis along Okene/Abuja highway, Kogi state from a commercial bus touring from Lagos to Abuja,” he said.

Babafemi spoke operatives also captured Nwanbunike Chibuike with 19,576 pills of Exol-5 and Diazepam following credible intelligence in Ogun state.

He stated Tramadol and Rohypnol, as well as 7.9 litres of Codeine, were also held at Ogere, Ikenne local government, Ogun, on June 15.

“In Zamfara, a shipment of 11,660 tablets of Hyponox and 6,000 ampoules of pentazocine injection was retrieved from a drug dealer, Success Amaefuna, at Tsafe area of the state on his path to Sokoto State.

“5,000 pills of Tramadol were taken from Darius Mbugun, who called the consignment from Onitsha, Anambra.

“The drug exhibit was hidden in a bag of garri for dispersal in Gembu, Sardauna LGA, Taraba,” he said.
