Nigeria Based Non Government Orrganization, Land of Hope, which is being run by its founder, Anja Ringgren Lovén and her husband, David Emmanuel Umem have reached out through social media to ask for support from the people. Land of Hope has been active for more than a decade and rescues children from families who accuse them of being witches/using witchcraft.
The organization has provided shelter to 91 children and takes care of all the children’s necessities, including education. In line with this, the Non government organization has called for people to support them. According to the message shared by Land of hope, they have 91 children in the organization. All these children are of school going age and the organization is finding it hard to arrange fees for these students.
The Non Government Organization has asked people of goodwill to support their cause by assisting in the following arrangements:
School uniforms and fees, exam fees, inter-house sport, 200 exercise books, graph books, clearance fees to West Africa Examination Council, card boards, school bags, new school boots for 25 children.
This list of arrangements is for the schoolgoing children. Meanwhile, they have also shared a similar list for the college goers. The list features the following necessities:
Laptops, rechargeable lambs, ceiling fan installation (These students live in small college apartments), household items, foams, standing fans. Further, they need textbooks, power banks, exam fees, transportation, uniforms/kittings. (The individuals have to pay this fees to the academy), jamb admission letters and printing, feeding money for all our university students, calculators, registration fees and lots more.
According to the NGO, The lists are a small part of our enormous educational budget for the first term of 2023. They further clarified that they need to pay 4 times every year. However, they confessed that they cannot do this alone. They urged people of goodwill to help them send more children out of the streets and into the class rooms.
