The Commonwealth of Dominica has appointed new Festivals and Events Manager for the Discover Dominica Authority. The new appointment, Nathalie Walsh, will manage Dominica’s major signature events, including Mas Domnik-The Real Mas, the World Creole Music Festival, and Jazz n’ Creole. She will also be responsible for organizing several smaller festivities over the year.
Notably, the newly appointed Festivals and Events Manager started working on her new position on March 13, 2023. Walsh holds extensive experience in the field of marketing strategy. She was DIGICEL’s telecommunications company’s Head of Commercial, Sales & Marketing Manager from 2006-2017. Her service in the company for more than a decade gave her valuable experience in marketing.
Meanwhile, the marketing professional started her career as the marketing manager for Courts Dominica Ltd. (2002 – 2005). Following her tenure as the Head of Commercial, Sales & Marketing Manager for Digicel telecommunication, she served as the Head of Distribution and Marketing for the Fine Foods Inc. Group of Companies (2018-2021). Accordingly, Walsh is a perfect fit for the team at the Discover Dominica Authority.
The team at the Dominica Festivals Committee aims to showcase the culture, music and art to the various stages in the world, whether they are national, regional or international levels. The newly appointed festivals and events manager of the Discover Dominica Authority has asserted that she aims to develop the tourism sector and inspire its existing and potential stakeholders and investors to create an exciting mix of brands coupled with compelling content for developing the industry.
The Minister of Tourism in the government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Denise Charles, noted that Walsh’s experience with marketing in the private sector makes her the perfect fit with the DDA and DFC teams. In he capacity as the festivals and events manager, Nathalie Walsh is responsible for uplifting the consumer experience and increasing visitor arrival in the destination.
