Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit receives courtesy call from Canada High Commissioner

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, received the High Commissioner of Canada to Dominica, Lilian Chatterjee for a Courtesy call at his office.

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, received the High Commissioner of Canada to Dominica, Lilian Chatterjee for a Courtesy call at his office. The meeting was hosted on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. During the meeting, High Commissioner Chatterjee and Prime Minister Skerrit engaged in critical discussions regarding the issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Skerrit shared the updates and images from the meeting on his social media. High Commissioner Lilian Chatterjee also shared some glimpses of the event on her Twitter account, noting that it is always a pleasure for her to be able to meet the Prime Minister of Dominica.

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the Canadian High Commissioner discussed areas of cooperation and mutual interest. The two spoke to each other regarding the deepening of the relationship between the two countries. The two reaffirmed their intention to extend bilateral relations between Canada and Dominica.

The Prime Minister shared some snapshots of the meeting on his social media. He posed with his guest warmly. The Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Melissa Poponne-Skerrit and Minister for the Environment, Rural Modernization, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment, Cozier Frederick, were in attendance at the meeting.

All the politicians posed for a photograph with the Canadian Diplomat. The meeting served as an opportunity for the ministers to interact with the High Commissioner of Canada, Lilian Chatterjee and keep her informed of the issues the country faces.

She serves as the High Comissioner of Canada to Barbados, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia & Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, OECS Commission. She regularly interacts with the countries‘ leaders under her charge to remain informed regarding the significant developments in the countries.

Several people of Dominica expressed their excitement over the government’s initiative to represent them with grace and dignity in the international sphere.
