The Good Governance Advocate, Political Analyst and Media and Communication Aide of Gambo Manzo, Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, recently took to his social media account. In his recent post, he shared his views about the youth leaders’ appointment after the Nigeria elections. He believes that the work of youth ambassadors will bring about differences in the country.
In line with this, Ambassador Nwachukwu applauded Dayo Israel for his election campaign work. According to Ambassador Timothy, among the three major political parties, APC, PDP and LP, Only the National Youth Leader of APC, Dayo Israel, worked overtly for his party.
Meanwhile, When the people’s Democratic Party held its convention with the emergence of a 25-year-old as the National youth leader of the PDP, many Nigerians were excited that young people finally had the opportunity to be part of the old Nigerian political order. However, they heard little about the young PDP National Youth Leader.
On the other hand, The Labour Party National Youth Leader could not stamp his feet and ensure visibility throughout the campaign. The most they heard about him was his suspension from the party as a result of the fraud he perpetrated with the party’s name, though this remained an allegation.
The focus of this writing is the National Youth Leader of the APC. Between 2015 and 2022, APC had National Youth Leaders who presided over the affairs of the party’s youth wing. However, none can compare with Dayo Israel who came prepared for his current position and demonstrated capacity by Innovating several initiatives which mobilised and engaged the APC youths to participate in the electioneering process.
Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the President-Elect of Nigeria, according to INEC.
The President-Elect has promised to hit the ground running from day one and appoint many young people and women into government. Accordingly, Timothy Nwachukwu believes that It is reasonable and non-negotiable that people should select someone like Dayo Israel as the Minister of Youths and Sports. He has shown capacity in the current position of the National Youth Leader of APC and will no doubt deliver when given a higher assignment.
