Security officials have thwarted a seven-man kidnap gang along the area of Awada.
In a try to capture the criminals, six out of seven gang members fled and abandoned both the victim’s vehicle along with their operational vehicle.
The seventh person captured was lynched by a raged mob and set ablaze before the police officials could reach the site.
Therefore, the Commissioner of Police CP Echeng criticised the actions of the mob action by a few members of the public who resort to jungle justice when they capture suspects in respect of criminal accusations without recourse to the Police for proper investigation.
Echeng has also asked them to always follow restraint by not taking the law into their own hands.
They must make an attempt to take such suspects to the closest Police Station whenever they are caught.
This will afford the Police the chance to take the appropriate investigation into the scandalous activities of the suspects and bring them to justice as per the extant laws.
Furthermore, the Police Officials have begun operation that is aimed at capturing the fleeing gang members and suspects who took laws into their hands by setting ablaze the captured suspect of the kidnapping gang.
