St Kitts hosts 4-day community Christmas Clean-up

The second phase of the community cleanup exercise was held in the various communities in St Kitts ahead of christmas celebrations.

The second phase of the community cleanup exercise was held in the various communities in St Kitts. This initiative of the St Kitts government comes amid several other community-level and national Christmas-themed celebrations. 

Reportedly, This cleanup drive lasted four days and spanned the weekend from Thursday, December 15, 2022, to Sunday, December 18, 2022. The island, divided into eight constituencies, saw the four-day cleanup drive ahead of Christmas. Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Geoffrey Hanley also shared the schedule and bin placement.

The schedule for the bin placement is as follows:

In Constituency number 1, the responsible authorities place the bins in the following designated areas for the Christmas-themed community cleanup:

  • Birdrock (Big roundabout)
  • George Street

From Constituency Number 2, the authorities picked the following areas to place the bins for the cleanup drive

  • New Road Play Park
  • College Street Ghaut
  • The Gardens (Community Center)

At Constituency 3, the bins were placed in the following designated areas:

  • Dr William Connor Primary (Wigley Alley & Tony Berry)
  • West Farm (opposite Bronet Welsh Primary)

Constituency 4, the authorities placed the bins for the cleanup drive in the following areas: 

  • Challengers Lawn
  • The lawn between Godwin Ghaut and Halfway Tree

Additionally Constituency Number 5, the responsible authorities placed the bins for the Christmas cleanup in the areas:

  • New Recreation Ground Schedule
  • Big Drain, Sandy Point
  • New Police Station Road

Talking About Constituency Number 6, the bins were placed for cleanup in the following areas:

  • Newton Ground (opposite Primary School)
  • Outside St Pauls (near to Primary School)
  • Dieppe Bay Project Lawn

Meanwhile, In Constituency Number 7, the following places had the bins placed for the community cleanup drive

  • Saddlers and Harris’ junction
  • Tabernacle Lawn
  • Philips’ (plum tree)

Finally, In Constituency Number 8, the authorities placed the bins for the community cleanup ahead of Christmas in the following sites:

  • St Mary’s Park
  • Half Moon Bay Roundabout
  • Stapleton
  • Parray’s Housing
