He believes that Messi, Ronaldo, & Mbappe are great players and says there is no doubt about that. However, they are still at the infant stage.

He adds that The world of football has hall-of-fame footballers in history who are miles ahead in achievements & contributions to the beautiful game.

Talking about the debate on social media, Professor Michael Ogueke says, Only ‘children’ who started following the sport of football in 2010 & have refused to ask about the game’s legends are making noise with kindergarten debates on social media about Messi, Ronaldo & Mbappe G.O.A.T status.

In the same light, he mentioned football players’ names who genuinely deserve the status of GOATs in the sport. One of the players was Zinedine Zidane, nicknamed Zizou. He was a Real Madrid and French national team player & captain. He is recognised worldwide as one of the greatest players of all time. Zizou won FIFA player of the year three times and a Ballon d’Or.

Zidane won countless domestic & international trophies. He also has over 200 personal French, Spanish, European & FIFA awards as a player & manager.

Another great player Professor Ugueke considers deserving of the title is Franz Beckenbauer. Renowned by Der Kaiser (the Emperor), he was a defender and captain of Bayern Munich & the German national team.
