Roseau, Dominica: Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica, wished every citizen of Dominica a happy 45th Independence Day through his official Facebook account.
He announced that the LIVE coverage of the Independence Day Observance Ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. PM Skerrit urged all citizens to tune in via all social media platforms to celebrate the 45th year of Independence from Great Britain.
Dominica gained its complete Independence on November 3, 1978. Today, the country will recognize its 45th anniversary of Independence under the theme ”Anou Selebwe” meaning ”Let Us Celebrate”.
The theme for this year’s independence celebration is simple yet holds significant meaning. It serves as a reminder that even in the most challenging times, the indomitable Dominican spirit will always carry us through.
Several countries from different regions of the world congratulated Dominica on their 45th Independence Day.
Dominica is famous worldwide for their culture and celebrations. Every year, the country celebrates its Independence with a season of Cultural activities that last for four straight weeks.
During the Diaspora Forum in 2023, PM Skerrit stated that Dominica’s Independence Day celebration is recognized as the best in the world.
The celebration of Independence Day opens a whole season of cultural activities, lasting for four weeks. Some of the aspects include national dress, traditional music and dances, markets and national food.
This year, the celebrations started on September 3 and will continue till November 5. Here are the remaining celebrations scheduled to take place from November 3-5-
