PM Roosevelt Skerrit honours farmers, fishers & vendors during Independence celebration

PM Roosevelt Skerrit honoured the farmers, fishers and vendors in the spirit of Dominica's 45th anniversary of independence theme, 'Annou Sélébwé.'

Roseau, Dominica: Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, honoured the farmers, fishers and vendors in the spirit of Dominica’s 45th anniversary of independence theme, ‘Annou Sélébwé.’

The individuals dealing in farming, fishing and vending were honoured and awarded by PM Skerrit yesterday at Market Day with a Difference at the Roseau Market on Saturday.

He remarked that the country honours them for their immense contribution to national food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture systems.

Sharing a glimpse of the award ceremony through his official Facebook account, PM Skerrit congratulated the farmers, fishers and vendors who were awarded at Saturday’s function.

While addressing, PM Skerrit said, “We celebrated our hardworking farmers, fishers and vendors who continue to serve our country and people with distinction and honour them for their contribution to national food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture systems”.
