Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, famously known by people as Davido, has been named as the Most Searched Musician of the year in the male category. The singer has grabbed the title for the third time in a row in 2022.
During the 2022 NET Honours Awards, the singer defeated other popular faces in the music industry, such as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Olamide.
NET Honours are based on verifiable data obtained through Netng’s online as well as social media channels and are awarded every year to deserving members of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
African music charts were outperformed by Davido’s ‘Stand Strong’, which further included Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir and got more than eight million streams around the world.

The 29 old singer, Davido, is well known for blending traditional African elements with the global mainstream pop. Davido grabbed the Next Rated award in 2012 at The Headies after releasing his second single, “Dami Duro”, from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo.
Recently, in March 2022, Davido got featured on “Hayya Hayya (Better Together) with (Trinidad Cardona and AISHA), which is the first single of the multi-song FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022’s official soundtrack. With this, Davido was marked as the first Nigerian singer to get featured in a FIFA World Cup single.
In May 2022, Davido released another hit song titled ‘Stand Strong’, which featured The Samples Choir. As per the Naija banquet, the song breaks away from the singer’s usual hop/dance style.
