Peter Obi, addressed the ongoing Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, in Abuja.

The presidential candidate from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, addressed the ongoing Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, in Abuja. His address was scheduled for October 12, 2022.

During his address, he received several standing ovations from the audience.

The Presidential Candidate, Obi, believes that once the people of Nigeria have determined their president, dealing with insecurity and corruption will be easy. Peter Obi also stated that if he were elected as the president in the forthcoming elections, he would achieve the feat of completely eradicating corruption and insecurity.

The representative of the Labour Party delivered his address on “Sustainability for Economic Prosperity.” He said one could only see in Nigeria that a criminal would kidnap a victim and make calls to his family. Yet, the security agencies don’t arrest him, even after having ample technology available, making it easy to know  the positions where the crime is happening.

He asserts that Making Nigeria secure is his number one priority. Obi lamented that it was only in Nigeria that someone kidnapped me and is phoning my brother, and they are negotiating the price.

He added, “If I am sick, he calls a doctor to come and treat me. Everybody knows where we are except the police. Peter Obi believes that it is not acceptable.

According to Peter Obi, one can not talk about sustainability when gangsters control their nation.

He argued that with the advancement in technology today, you can quickly ascertain where the crime is taking place and sort it out. Under his administration, Peter Obi promised that Nigeria would have a three-level policing: Local government, state and National.

Obi believes appointing incompetent people into offices is equivalent to corruption. He believes that a president can quickly stop the crime of corruption, provided that he is not corrupt personally.
