Nigeria: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that it has no plan regarding re-organising the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The information was published on the front page of the weekly bulletin of the Board released on Monday.
JAMB warned the general public regarding falling prey to fraudsters claiming that there was a mistake in the scoring of the 2022 UTME.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned the general public, especially candidates in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that was conducted recently, to be careful of the deception and other objectionable activities of fraudsters who are making wrong claims of errors in the numbering of candidates in the 2022 UTME.
Therefore, the Board maintained for many times that the UTME is a computer test that is scored electronically with no human mediation. Therefore, the baseless rumours making the rounds are nothing but the products of the false brains of the masterminds of these useless hints.
The statement said, “Hence, the Board repeats that there is no room for mistakes in its electronic scoring system, nor does it plan to conduct another UTME. This clarification became essential following reports of a purported rescheduling of the UTME from a section of the social media, noting phantom mistakes in the computer scoring system and a purported apology from JAMB to the impact that another UTME would be conducted.”
The Board said to state that the report is not only wrong and mischievous but is also misleading and made due to frustration by the incapability of these fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting candidates owing to the series of creative strategies the Board had put in place to protect the candidates explained the bulletin.
JAMB stated that it had warned the public of the potential of these fraud acts, further adding that it visits the website of the Board periodically to avoid being a victim.
