PM Drew visits Cayon High School, aims to enhance its infrastructure

PM Terrance Drew was delighted to share the significant progress at Cayon High School, including the installation of doors, windows and electrical systems.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was delighted to share the significant progress at Cayon High School, including the installation of doors, windows and electrical systems. He announces the completion of an upgraded bathroom facility in the school. 

Such developments marked the continuous efforts of PM Drew and his government for the enhancement of the school’s infrastructure.

The prime minister was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Geoffrey Hanley, along with other government officials from the Education Ministry. The leader of St Kitts and Nevis was glad to announce the completion of the bathroom facility, which is an important development to the school’s framework.

PM Drew took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to share an update on his visit to the school. 

“This morning, I had the privilege of conducting a follow-up visit to Cayon High School alongside the Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, the Hon Dr Geoffrey Hanley, and other officials from the Ministry of Education. 

I’m delighted to report significant progress since our last inspection, including the installation of windows, doors, and electrical systems in an entire block of the school. I am also pleased to announce the completion of an upgraded bathroom facility, a crucial enhancement to the school’s infrastructure”, added PM Drew. 

He further expressed his commitment to provide a well-organized learning environment for every student in the country and said that his government is continuously working to prioritize investments in education. 

While speaking about the objective of promoting the education sector, he said that this would empower the youth to follow the path of peace and contribute to the development of the nation.

PM Drew extended a vote of thanks to the faculty of Cayon High School for their tireless efforts to create a valuable space for the students to grow. 

Additionally, the leader of St Kitts and Nevis visited the school in November 2023 and distributed the first set of laptops to students and teachers. The laptops were provided under the government’s One-to-One Laptop Programme.

Noting this, the laptops which were distributed to the parents were fully loaded with educational tools and software. Such modern learning tools helped the students to meet the curriculum requirements and carry a bag. 

Such programmes strengthened the computer education in schools and learning institution and contribute in the overall development of the country.
