The Command is completely ready to learn from your fountain of knowledge and expertise. The Command counts on preparing us to deliver effective service to the people of Kano State in line with international best practices.

He added, Let me also emphasize that on my assumption of duty on May 2 2023, as the 45th Commissioner of Police of Kano State Command, there were security challenges. He especially mentioned the menace of Mobile Phone Armed Robbery, especially around the Kano Metropolis.

Here there were daily cases and in most cases, records of fatalities, injuries, and loss of properties. There are also threats of kidnapping of some members of the State’s border communities in some Local Government Areas”.

The Commissioner of Police further stated, “It’s in line with the vision and directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to all Police Commands and formations to each employ effective policing strategies for tackling insecurity.

These include Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Banditry, Thuggery, etc. He stated after I obtained briefs from my predecessor and the Command’s relevant Departmental Heads, I carefully studied the crime map and developed action plans to which the police command intensified its Community Engagements, Visibility and Intelligence-led Policing.

Also, keep engaging in massive Public Enlightenment and Sensitization as part of the efforts to surmount the menace which ultimately brought crime and criminality to the nearest minimum. The Command has recorded tremendous successes in policing the State, drastically reducing several crime trends. It’s a good story to tell everyone that during the last month, only two Mobile Phone Armed Robbery cases were reported across the 44 Local Government Areas of the State.
