Big Brother Naija Stars Alex and Tobi Bakare have confirmed the death of their fellow BB Naija Contestant, Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey.

Big Brother Naija Stars Alex and Tobi Bakare have confirmed the death of their fellow BB Naija Contestant, Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey.

The deceased BB Naija star, Rico Swavey, was on life support following a major motor vehicle accident. The motor vehicle accident happened in Lagos state’s Lekki/ Ajah area.

He passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the early hours of the day.

Hours before his demise, the colleagues of Rico Swavey and fellow Big Brother Naija contestants Alex Unusual and Tobi Bakre started the Campaign to raise funds for his treatment.

The news of his death has left his colleagues in a state of Mourning. They have taken to their respective social media accounts to share their condolences on the death of their friend. 

Alex Unusual, a friend and Colleague of the deceased, shared the news of his accident on her Twitter account, again went on her social media to mourn her colleague, Alex wrote:

“This was not what we agreed Rico. Rest In Peace #ricoswavey” 

Meanwhile Tobi Bakare, another contestant from the same season of Big Brother Naija as Rico, took to his social media account to write “We lost him. But thanks a lot, guys. God knows best.”

Bakara had started a fundraiser to pay for Rico Swayvey’s medical expenses following the motor accident.

The BBNaija ex-housemate announced on his Twitter page on Wednesday as he asked the public for donations.

He shared a picture of the hospitalized Swayvey while noting that the doctors put him on life support. 

He urged the people to come out and support him. Bakara was paying the medical bills of the (now deceased) Bigg Brother Naija Star.

Following the death news, Tobi shared a picture of himself and Rico. He captioned his post with the words: “This is how I will remember you, brother.”
