The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, attending the eighth session of the Raisina dialogue in Delhi, has named the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the most popular leader of the modern world. The Italian leader shared her observation that the approval ratings of PM Modi suggest that he is the most loved leader globally.
Prime Minister Meloni made these remarks while attending India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-strategy as a chief guest.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the eighth edition of the Raisina Dialogue, arranged by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is on her first state visit to India. She met with the Indian counterpart to discuss how the two world leaders could elevate the relationship between Italy and India.
The two leaders discussed various matters of importance during the interaction. Elaborating on the minute details of the meeting, India’s foreign secretary Vinay Kwatra noted that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni chose to visit India for strategic importance. She clarified that this was not a routine bilateral visit.
Further, they seek to develop a bilateral relationship between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Meloni appreciated the leadership of PM, Narendra Modi. She emphasized the leadership ability of the Indian Prime Minister in matters of regional and international importance, especially when it comes to the issues of the global south.
The two leaders discussed bilateral, regional and global cooperation matters in depth. According to foreign secretary Kwatra, the two leaders discussed five important areas of collaboration, emphasizing defence. Kwatra Clarified that during the interaction, an onlooker could see a strong bond of friendship between the two politicians. They held the discussions in a cordial, warm, friendly and frank atmosphere.
Talking about defence cooperation, PM Modi and Meloni discussed the expansion of military exercises to strengthen all levels of the armed forces. Further, they discussed Maritime collaboration, space, cyber and sea.
